COURCHEVEL AT A GLANCE

This resort has a reputation as a playground for the rich and famous, but this resort has some first-class skiing! Courchevel is a part of the Three Valleys a collection of slopes which makes the huge amount of skiing, over 600kms to explore! This resort is home to some amazing 5* hotels, chalets and much more. 1850 is the more expensive place to be but it is pricey! We recommend stays at the neighbouring villages of La Praz, La Tania, and Courchevel 1600m these villages are generally better value for money and still ski in ski out!

Our ideal day in Courchevel
Get up early and take full advantage of the mornings. With so much to ski and less people on the slopes. Head up to the top of the lift Dou Des Lanches at the top of La Tania, take the black down that merge with a fast blue through the trees a perfect warm up to the day, there is also a blue that winds all the way down from the top to avoid the black! Play around in the blue and red runs down into La tania before making your way to Courchevel 1850. Explore the runs off Biolay and Pralong for the blues. If its reds you’re after, then make sure you ski under the Vizelle lift – this should keep you happy. By then, a lunch stop is on everyone’s mind, ski down to Hotel Courchneiges restaurant just off of the Bellecotte green run and enjoy a beautiful mountain meal. The views surrounding the

restaurant are amazing, looking at 1600m Courchevel and its unique Mountain Airport! If it’s a bit cooler head into the hotel and snuggle up by the fire for a luxurious hot choc! After lunch we recommend a ski over to Courchevel 1600 before heading back to the après bars for a boogie and a drink!

WHY WE LOVE COURCHEVEL

  • Huge range of slopes for all levels
  • Wooded slopes below the resort are excellent in bad weather
  • Great snow record

Beginners

Courchevel boasts some fantastic ski areas to learn how to ski such as the well-known green run Bellecotte – a long green that goes around the edge of Courchevel 1850m. there are short drag lifts and even gondolas that you don’t need a ski pass for, this makes it an ideal place for beginners! Beyond this, progress to the longer greens at 1650 and at the gentle blues at Biolay!

Intermediates

There is so much terrain to choose from, head over towards La tania for long blue runs that lead you all the way down to the village. Or head over to Courchevel 1600 and practice your turns on some steep reds and very crusiey blues. Strong intermediate skiers should attempt to ski all of the resorts in the Three Valleys!

Advanced

Courchevel is part of the 3 Valleys ski area – if you didn’t know its absolutely massive. There are a few blacks marked on the piste map, there are some great challenges, most noticeably the Grand Couloir from the top of the Saulire. Make sure you check out the avalanche warnings before mapping out your off piste runs. We recommend hiring a guide for the day if you want some seriously untouched off piste, the guides will take you places no one else has ever been… well on that day anyway! Be sure to head over to Mont Vallon above Méribel for 800m of off piste vertical! THE RUN How can we forget the World Cup run in La Tania? L’Eclipse is 3.1kms of a steep black run, challenge yourselves like the pros by taking on the 945m vertical drop on this run!

Ski Schools

We have some great companies working with us in Courchevel, the likes of New Generation and Oxygene some great English speaking instructor’s will advise you on your skiing!

Free Ski Bus

There is a free ski bus that will take you all the way through Courchevel 1850, down through 1650, 1550, La Praz and finally to La Tania. The buses run all day from 8:00am and the last bus will be at la Tania for 1:00am. This allows you to do some partying up in the neighbouring villages before heading back to your hotels.
